Privacy

Plain words, no small print. Updated 26 October 2026.

You don’t need an account. Hold the Room works fully without one. Your progress, notes and Speak numbers are kept in your browser on your device. What you say or type in Speak and Say it clearly is never sent anywhere.

If you save your progress to your email

This is optional. If you choose it, we store:

We use it for three things only: so you can pick up on any device, to send the emails you asked for, and to know which of those emails you want.

The emails

Every reminder has a one-tap unsubscribe link, and you can change any of this in the app under Me.

Counting visits

So we can see how many people use Hold the Room and where they hear about it, the app sends us a few anonymous counts:

These counts carry no name, no email, no ID and no cookie. Each one only adds 1 to a total for that day, so nobody, including us, can tell who sent it.

Where it’s kept

On Cloudflare, which hosts the app, stores the saved progress and sends the emails for us. We don’t sell your data, we don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t give your email to anyone else. To stop abuse, we briefly note the internet address (IP) a request comes from, and delete it within two hours.

Deleting it

In the app, go to Me and choose Delete my saved data. Your email and saved progress are removed from our records straight away. You can also email us and we’ll do it for you.
